Full privacy policy

This policy explains information handled when someone visits HonestPocket, uses a calculator, joins the newsletter, or contacts the site.

Information collected automatically

The site and its hosting systems may process technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referrer, timestamps, and basic request logs for security, reliability, and analytics.

Analytics and tags

HonestPocket currently uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand page use and important interactions. These services may use cookies or similar identifiers and may receive page URLs, device information, and interaction events. Calculator analytics events are designed not to include the dollar amounts, balances, rates, or other values entered into calculator fields.

Calculator information

Calculators are designed to update in the browser. Do not enter account numbers, Social Security numbers, login credentials, or other sensitive identifiers. If a calculator URL already contains query parameters, those parameters may appear in browser history, server logs, or analytics page-location data.

Newsletter information

Newsletter forms are provided through Kit (formerly ConvertKit). When someone subscribes, Kit may process the email address, signup status, form source, and related technical information needed to manage consent, delivery, and unsubscribes. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe option. During the transition from MailerLite, previously collected newsletter records and worksheet file hosting may remain with MailerLite. Unsubscribed contacts are not automatically reactivated as part of the transition.

Contact messages

If someone contacts HonestPocket by email, the site receives the address, message, and any information voluntarily included. Contact email is not a secure channel for sensitive financial or identity information.

Cookies and similar technologies

WordPress, performance tools, analytics services, and newsletter providers may use cookies or local storage for site operation, security, measurement, or form behavior. Browser settings can be used to limit or delete cookies, though some features may work differently.

How information is used and shared

Information may be used to operate and secure the site, measure performance, improve content and tools, respond to messages, and manage newsletter subscriptions. It may be processed by service providers that support hosting, WordPress, caching, analytics, tag management, or email delivery. HonestPocket does not claim to sell personal financial input data.

Retention and security

Information is retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described, subject to provider settings, legal requirements, security needs, and backup cycles. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no website, email, or third-party service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

Readers can unsubscribe through an email footer, control cookies through browser settings, avoid placing sensitive information in forms, or ask a privacy question at hello@honestpocket.com.

Children and external sites

HonestPocket is not directed to children under 13. Links to external sites are governed by those sites’ own privacy practices.

Changes

This policy may be updated when site features or providers change. The date above will be revised when material changes are published.
